Basketball
Basketball is a popular activity at St. Joan of Arc. Competing in the Waukesha Area Catholic Conference (www.wacconference.org) league play is offered for both boys and girls grades 5th through 8th.
In addition, St. Joan of Arc participates in the Pabst Farms YMCA Basketball League for boys and girls in grades 1st through 4th. For Junior and Senior Kindergarten, SJOA offers a 4-week Junior Basketball program to introduce basic fundamentals and to have fun.
Basketball Committee Chairman Brian Gilmore, who played at the University of Wisconsin-Platteville for Bo Ryan, UW-Madison’s current head men’s basketball coach, guides our many volunteer coaches. Under the direction of Gilmore, St. Joan of Arc coaches foster a nurturing and fun atmosphere.
In 2009, St. Joan of Arc made its first appearance at the premiere, invite-only, Padre Sierra Tournament. After an undefeated conference regular season, the SJOA 8th Grade Boys received an invitation and one won game in the tournament.
