In all subject areas, challenging academic standards and grade level benchmarks provide learning targets.

Is the school accredited?

Yes. St. Joan of Arc School has been fully accredited through the Wisconsin Religious and Independent Schools Accreditation (WRISA) and the Archdiocese of Milwaukee. Additionally, SJOA applied for and received the Exemplary Recognition Award in the area of Mission, Community, and Climate (More info....).  St Joan of Arc Parish School has a clearly stated and clearly lived mission. All stakeholders believe strongly in the mission and importance of our school and are working to assure that the school's mission is carried out each day.

Religious Education is integrated into the life of each student. A continuous effort is made to create a Christ-centered atmosphere throughout the school and in each classroom. A formal religion program is taught on all levels, 4K—Grade 8.

Do children attend mass?

Children’s liturgies are celebrated on Fridays. They are prepared by our pastor and individual grade levels. All-school liturgies are offered on holy days as well. Our pastor teaches religion to students at the middle school level. He is welcomed by students of all ages in the classrooms, at recesses, and at school programs and events.

What about other religious instruction or preparation for receiving the sacraments?

We celebrate our faith as a Catholic community in many ways. Daily classroom prayer is a part of each day. A variety of methods, including song, formal and spontaneous prayer, and scriptural reflection are participative and reflective of our Catholic identity.

The pastoral staff supports the school’s educational program and participates actively in the ongoing religious formation of the students. The pastor, Father Mike Strachota, visits the students in their classroom at regular intervals. Topics of interest are correlated with seasonal or curricular theology.
