What is the schools curriculum?
Our standards-based curriculum is aligned with instruction, methods, and local and standardized assessment. We have recently implemented a standards-based report card at all levels, 4K through Grade 8. In all subject areas, challenging academic standards and grade level benchmarks provide learning targets.
Is the school accredited?
Yes. St. Joan of Arc School has been fully accredited through the Wisconsin Religious and Independent Schools Accreditation (WRISA) and the Archdiocese of Milwaukee. Additionally, SJOA applied for and received the Exemplary Recognition Award in the area of Mission, Community, and Climate (More info....). St Joan of Arc Parish School has a clearly stated and clearly lived mission. All stakeholders believe strongly in the mission and importance of our school and are working to assure that the school's mission is carried out each day.
What is the school’s daily schedule?
Students who must arrive prior to 7:30am wait in the school lobby. Teachers are available at 7:30am. The day begins with a prayer and morning announcements of the day’s events at 7:45. Lunchtime begins at 11:15 with a recess following. The day concludes at 2:45pm. The Four-Year-Old Kindergarten program begins at 7:45 and concludes at 11:15am.
How is religion integrated into the curriculum?
Religious Education is integrated into the life of each student. A continuous effort is made to create a Christ-centered atmosphere throughout the school and in each classroom. A formal religion program is taught on all levels, 4K—Grade 8.
Do children attend mass?
Children’s liturgies are celebrated on Fridays. They are prepared by our pastor and individual grade levels. All-school liturgies are offered on holy days as well. Our pastor teaches religion to students at the middle school level. He is welcomed by students of all ages in the classrooms, at recesses, and at school programs and events.
What about other religious instruction or preparation for receiving the sacraments?
We celebrate our faith as a Catholic community in many ways. Daily classroom prayer is a part of each day. A variety of methods, including song, formal and spontaneous prayer, and scriptural reflection are participative and reflective of our Catholic identity.
The pastoral staff supports the school’s educational program and participates actively in the ongoing religious formation of the students. The pastor, Father Mike Strachota, visits the students in their classroom at regular intervals. Topics of interest are correlated with seasonal or curricular theology.

When a class is filled, a family may place their name on a waiting list. A conscientious effort is made to make enrollment in St. Joan of Arc Parish School available to all who request it.
